PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a common mode filter and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A common mode filter includes: a magnetic substrate; a first coil electrode formed on the magnetic substrate; a first lead electrode formed on the magnetic substrate so as to be connected to an end of the first coil electrode; a first insulating layer formed on the magnetic substrate so as to cover an upper surface of the first coil electrode and an upper surface of the first lead electrode; a height compensation electrode formed on the upper surface of the first lead electrode so as to compensate the difference between the height of the first insulating layer and the height of the first lead electrode; a second coil electrode formed on the first insulating layer so as to be electrically connected to the first coil electrode; a second lead electrode connected to an end of the second coil electrode and formed on an upper surface of the first insulating layer so as to come into contact with an upper surface of the height compensation electrode; a second insulating layer formed on the first insulating layer so as to cover the upper surface of the second coil electrode and the upper surface of the second lead electrode; and an external electrode formed on the second insulating layer so as to be electrically connected to the second lead electrode.
