PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polyisocyanate which shows high emulsifiability in water and causes less reduction of isocyanate groups when blended with water or a main agent containing water and a coating composition using it.SOLUTION: A polyisocyanate composition comprises a modified polyisocyanate obtained by reaction of a sulfonic acid amine salt having a hydroxy group with a polyisocyanate, and the sulfonic acid amine salt having the hydroxy group is a salt of a sulfonic acid of formula (1) having a hydroxy group with one or more of amine compounds having a ring structure of formula (2).
