PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent, when static elimination parts of a plurality of image forming parts perform both functions of static elimination before transfer and static elimination after transfer, an adverse effect of static elimination light after transfer from the static elimination parts on image carriers, and the occurrence of image defects due to turn-off of the static elimination parts.SOLUTION: When a second mode is selected where only a first image forming part 4K operates, a static elimination exposure switching part 77, in a second image forming part 4M adjacent to the first image forming part 4K on the upstream side in a belt rotation direction R1, prevents an image carrier 41 from being irradiated with first static elimination light L1 and irradiates the image carrier of the first image forming part 4K with second static elimination light L2. |
