PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive resin composition having such properties that a protective layer can be formed from the composition on a coating type polarizing film without inhibiting a function of the polarizing film, that the protective layer together with the coating type polarizing film can be patterned (by removing an unnecessary part of the coating), and that the obtained protective layer also has a function of protecting the coating type polarizing film from the subsequent lamination process.SOLUTION: The photosensitive resin composition for a coating type polarizing film protective layer comprises at least (A) a polymer having at least a cyclic ether group and (B) a photo-cation polymerization initiator.
