摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element that has a wide viewing angle, includes liquid crystal molecules with a fast response speed, and is excellent in long-term reliability.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display element including the steps of: applying a liquid crystal alignment agent on conductive films of a pair of substrates having the conductive films; heating the conductive films to form coating films; arranging the pair of substrates to be opposite to each other so that the coating films face to each other with a liquid crystal layer therebetween to constitute a liquid crystal cell; and irradiating the liquid crystal cell with light while applying a voltage between the conductive films of the pair of substrates, the liquid crystal alignment agent to be used contains a polymer (P) having a group represented by the following formula (A) in a side chain. In the formula, Ris a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group, and Ris a divalent organic group.
