A chain block (10), provided with: a body frame (20); and a gear cover (40) attached to the body frame (20) with a fixing means (SB2) interposed therebetween, the gear cover (40) forming an interior space (S2) sealed from the exterior between the gear cover (40) and the body frame (20) and rotatably supporting one end side of a reduction gear member (71). A gear-side frame part (23) is provided with a bottom part (23a) and an outer peripheral wall part (23b) that protrudes from an outer peripheral edge part of the bottom part (23a). An upper rib (261) having both ends connected to the outer peripheral wall part (23b) is provided at an upper side portion of the gear-side frame (23) at which an insertion hole (24) and a linking shaft (111) are provided, the upper rib (261) being provided at a portion nearer the center of the interior space (S2) than is the outer peripheral wall part (23b).
