The movement parameter that quantitatively characterizes the movement of the body at the target point is determined. The control parameter that depends on the movement parameter is determined. The extent of an overlap of the dose distribution of a target point with the dose distributions of neighboring target points is controlled by the control parameter. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) apparatus for determining control parameter of the particle therapy system; and (2) particle therapy system.
