PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting method and structure for a resin member designed to connect two or more resin members formed of thermoplastic resin by using a self-pierce rivet, and to ensure sealing performance on the interface of the two resin members to be connected, while achieving a connection structure of high connecting strength.SOLUTION: The connecting method for resin members includes: a first step of laminating two or more resin members 5, 6 across a conductive metal plate 7, and striking a self-pierce rivet 4 from above the laminated part into the lowermost resin member 5; and a second step of heating the metal plate 7 so as to melt the adjacent resin members 6, 5, at least at the interface with the metal plate 7, so that the molten resin is deposited on the metal plate 7, and connecting the resin members 5, 6 by rivet connection, deposition of molten resin, and burr 7a generated when the self-pierce rivet 4 penetrates through the metal plate 7 and caught in a resin member 5 lower than the metal plate 7. |
