[Class 141.] In a machine for attaching papers together by crimping, wherein the papers are passed between two indenting -wheels having wedgeshaped teeth, one of the indenting- wheels is mounted directly on a flexible spindle, and the pressure exerted by this wheel on the other wheel is regulated by adjusting the flexibility of the spindle. The machine comprises a body 3 provided with a clamping-screw 2 for attachment to a table 1, a lower indenting-wheel 4 which can be rotated by a crank-handle 5, and an upper indenting-wheel 6 which is mounted on a flexible spindle 7 of steel wire. The spindle 7 is mounted at one end in a bearing sleeve 9, which is pressed into a bore in the body part 3 and is mounted at its other end in a bore provided in a regulating-screw 8. The screw 8 can be axially displaced to cause the pressure of the wheel 6 on the wheel 4 to be varied. A paper-supporting table 10 is provided. The spindle 7 may comprise a bundle of flexible steel wires. |
