The present invention provides an apparatus for preparing mineral fibers by using brown gas and a method thereof. The mineral fiber preparing apparatus includes: a brown gas supply apparatus; an incinerator which is connected to the brown gas supply apparatus and receives a raw material from the brown gas supply apparatus to incinerate the raw material with a first brown gas supplied from the brown gas supply apparatus, thereby removing carbon from the raw material; a furnace which is connected to the brown gas supply apparatus and a furnace and heats and melts the raw material supplied from the incinerator with a second brown gas supplied from the brown gas supply apparatus; a spinning roll which collides with the molten metal while rotating to rapidly cool the molten metal, thereby preparing the mineral fibers; and a heat exchanger which is connected to the incinerator and the furnace and receives exhaust gas from the incinerator and the furnace respectively to generate steam by exchanging heat with the exhaust gas. The furnace includes: a melting unit which melts the raw material with the second brown gas to provide the molten metal; a first burner which is installed to pass through the upper part of the furnace to receive the second brown gas and come in direct contact with the molten metal of the melting unit in order to heat the molten metal; a refiner which forms a molten pool by receiving the molten metal from the melting unit and drops a predetermined amount of the molten metal from the molten pool to the spinning roll through an opening formed on the lower part, thereby providing the molten metal to the spinning roll; and a second burner which receives the second brown gas to heat the molten pool of the refiner. |
