The present invention relates to an air heater for controlling the temperature of intake air coming into a combustion chamber and to an operating method thereof. The air heater for controlling the temperature of intake air coming into a combustion chamber comprises: an intake duct having an outer side surface part an inner side surface part, which have pipe-like shapes, combined coaxially; an inner air generating part capable of generating inner air by sucking outer air and heating or cooling the outer air, and communicating with a space between the outer side surface part and the inner side surface part; and an air nozzle formed on the inner side surface part to guide the inner air to the inside of the intake duct. Provided is an air heater for controlling the temperature of intake air coming into a combustion chamber and an operating method thereof, wherein the performance of heating is improved compared with a traditional electric air heater and intake air can be cooled without installing an air conditioner by using a low electric current compared with the traditional electric air heater and including the function of a heating pump besides resistance-type heating. |
