PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress excessive rise of a rotation speed of an engine or motor-generator while substantially limiting deterioration in braking force of a vehicle and in durability of a power train, in the vehicle provided with the engine, engine separation clutch, motor-generator, torque converter with a lockup clutch and automatic transmission.SOLUTION: In a vehicle provided with an engine, an engine separation clutch, a motor-generator, a torque converter with a lockup clutch and an automatic transmission, an ECU performs, in a case where a vehicle speed is on the increase despite that an accelerator is turned off or a brake is turned on: maintaining the engine separation clutch engaged; maintaining a gear stage of the automatic transmission at the present gear stage; and allowing the lockup clutch to slip. |
