PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that increases ingredients contained in foods by irradiating foods with light containing ultraviolet light in cold storage or refrigeration storage of foods, and thereby enhances the added value of stored foods.SOLUTION: A refrigerator includes a cold storage chamber 2, a second temperature changeover chamber 7, ultraviolet light irradiation means 12, control means 16, and time measurement means. When foods 8 stored in the second temperature changeover chamber 7 is irradiated with ultraviolet light to increase a first active ingredient in the foods 8, in a case of irradiating the food with an amount of ultraviolet light enough to increase the first active ingredient, an ultraviolet light source is lit out. |
