PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin excellent in mechanical strength, and a method for producing the molding thereof.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin including: (a stage A) where a solvent is beforehand impregnated into a continuous fiber; (a stage B) where a solvent obtained by dissolving a solvent into a polycarbonate copolymer (I) made of a specified structural unit is impregnated into the continuous fiber; and (a stage C) where the solution-impregnated reinforced fiber is heated to volatile the solvent to obtain a prepreg as a fiber reinforced composite material.
