PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake strengthening structure of a bridge pier, which can increase toughness by exerting a restraining effect on a bridge pier column, even without providing a clearance between a steel plate and a footing.SOLUTION: In an earthquake strengthening structure, a steel plate is installed on the outer periphery of a rectangular cross-section bridge pier column 3 constructed on a footing 2. A corrugated steel plate 4 is installed in at least a plastic hinge area Lp of the bridge pier column 3 in such a manner that a peak 4a and a valley 4b of a corrugation are directed in a horizontal direction. The corrugated steel plate 4 is installed as a unit 10 in which a flange is vertically fixed to both horizontal ends thereof. |
