PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate imaging surface autofocus control.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an imaging element that includes a phase difference sensor in a given area within the imaging element; reading means that reads an arbitrary area of the imaging element; focus area selection means that selects a focus area within an imaging element area; phase difference focus control means that reads the focus area by the reading means and performs focus control by output of the phase difference sensor; and contrast focus control means that performs focus control by image output. When the phase difference sensor is not included within the focus area, a reading area is enlarged so as to include the phase difference sensor, and the phase difference focus control is performed. |
