The present invention relates to a vehicle charger and a method for detecting a control pilot signal of the vehicle charger. The vehicle charger according to the present invention counts a control pilot signals according to a signal level during a set period of time if input of a control pilot signal generated in a power supply device is sensed, and outputs state information of the control pilot signal according to the check result by checking whether the number of counting high level signals of the control pilot signal is within a predetermined reference range if the set period of time is over. The vehicle charger and the method for detecting a control pilot signal of the vehicle charger detect a control pilot signal generated from the power supply device to control on/off of control power of the charger when an electric vehicle is stalled.
