The purpose of the present invention is to provide a magnetic detection device that can be smaller and thinner. This magnetic detection device (1) is provided with a substrate (S), and a first magneto-impedance element (MI element) that is disposed on one surface side of the substrate and is composed of a first magneto-sensitive wire (W1) that extends and is sensitive to an external magnetic field component of a first axial direction, and a first detection coil (C1) that loops around the first magneto-sensitive wire. The first detection coil of the present invention is composed of a left-side coil section (C11) and right-side coil section (C12) which co-exist along the first magneto-sensitive wire, and is provided with a magnetic field direction change body (F1) which is composed of a soft magnetic material and which is at least partially disposed on another surface side of the substrate or inside the substrate between the left-side coil section and right-side coil section and with which an external magnetic field component of a third axial direction intersecting with the substrate can be changed to a measured magnetic field component of the first axial direction. The external magnetic field component of the third axial direction can then be detected on the basis of a left-side output obtained from the left-side coil section and a right-side output obtained from the right-side coil section. |
