[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to generate a high-resolution display image while taking into account the capacity of a transmission channel between a transmission device that transmits image data and a display device that displays an image on a display unit. [Solution] The present invention is characterized by comprising the following: a display device that displays an image on a display unit; a data transmission unit that transmits, to the display device, image data generated using a format that was pre-determined on the basis of information decoded from encoded information, and interpolation data for interpolating the difference between a pre-determined format and a format used at the time when encoded information is decoded; an interpolation data selection unit that selects the type of interpolation data to be transmitted to the display device, on the basis of the priority order of a plurality of types of interpolation data that can be generated on the basis of encoded information; and a display processing unit that acquires, at the display device, the selected type of interpolation data and the image data, and that displays on the display unit the image the image data of which has been interpolated on the basis of the interpolation data. |
