PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance silencer.SOLUTION: A silencer comprises: a main body 10 including a cylindrical part 11 mounted so that its outer peripheral surface comes into contact with an inner peripheral surface of a bell 1 of a brass instrument and a closure part 12 for closing one end 14 of the cylindrical part 11; and a performance adjusting pipe 20 that extends from the closure part 12 to an outside of the main body 10 and in which a first end 20a is open near the closure part 12 inside the main body 10 and a second end 20b is open outside the main body 10. The performance adjusting pipe 20 has length shorter than half wavelength of the highest note within a practical use range of the brass instrument. |
