This automated teller machine performs predetermined transaction processing using a medium that is equipped with a magnetic data storage unit, and is provided with: one or a plurality of fraudulent device detection units that generate a magnetic field toward the vicinity of an inlet/outlet for the medium and capture a change in the magnetic field that is caused by metal; one or a plurality of magnetic data interference units that generate a magnetic field and interfere with the reading of the magnetic data that is stored in the magnetic data storage unit of the inserted medium or the discharged medium; and a control unit that controls the operation of the magnetic data interference unit and the fraudulent device detection unit. |
