PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide purified forms of pharmaceutically acceptable sodium nitrite.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating a condition associated with high blood pressure, increasing blood flow, and treating hemolytic condition contains purified sodium nitrite, which contains about 0.02% by weight or less of sodium carbonate, and 10 ppm or less of anti-caking agent; has a given value or less of a loss on drying, a water content, and the content of specific impurities; has a total aerobic count of microbial load; has a total yeast and mold count; and has a specific value or less of bacterial endotoxin. |
