A method and an apparatus for vapor and gas filtration comprise a housing having an inlet where gas is flowed in and an outlet where the gas is flowed out. The housing includes a filter composed of sintered metal fibers having an active filtration area where the gas enters, for removing particles deposited from the gas. The filter has substantially uniform thickness and porosity through the active filtration area. A filter medium is sealed in a metal structure in the housing, and the metal structure has an opening for allowing the gas to pass. A method for making a vapor/gas mixture comprises a step of producing vapor with gas for forming a vapor/gas mixture discharged through the opening in the housing including the filter formed with the sintered metal fibers where the vapor/gas mixture passes. |
