The battery module comprises a plurality of battery cells, first and second end plates, an intermediary plate, an elastic member, and a support member. The battery cells are arranged into one row. The first and second end plates sandwich the plurality of battery cells from the two sides in the arrangement direction thereof. The intermediary plate is disposed between the first end plate and the battery cell that is adjacent to said first end plate and is constituted so as to move in the arrangement direction along with the swelling of the plurality of battery cells. The elastic member is provided between the intermediary plate and the first end plate, and constituted in such a way as to deform elastically when pressed due to the movement of the intermediary plate accompanying the swelling of the battery cells. The support member is retained by the first end plate and supports the intermediary plate from a direction orthogonal to the arrangement direction. |
