PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine capable of improving reliability by preventing a void from being formed in a filling resin with which the inside of a case is filled.SOLUTION: An ignition coil 1 includes a primary coil 11, a secondary coil 12, a central core 13, an outer peripheral core 2, a case 3 accommodating them therein, and a filling resin 4 with which the inside of the case 3 is filled, and which has an electric insulation property. The outer peripheral core 2 includes: a pair of side portions formed upward from both ends of the central core 13 in an axial direction X; and a connecting portion 22 connecting upper ends in the pair of side portions with each other. In at least a part of a bottom face of the connecting portion 22, a slope 23 is formed which is inclined upward from one end to the other end in a lateral direction Y orthogonal with a longitudinal direction Z and the axial direction X. |
