An induction heater according to one side of the present invention capable of sensing the presence and absence of an object in the induction heater includes: an induction coil which heats the object by inducing a magnetic field to the object by forming the magnetic field when an AC voltage with a preset amplitude is applied; a determining unit which determines whether or not the object is in the induction heater by using at least one change among a voltage value on both ends of a capacitor, a reactance′component′value of the induction heater, and a frequency value of the voltage supplied to the induction coil; and a control unit which controls power supplied to the induction coil according to the determination result of the determining unit.
