A method and apparatus for recycling glass laminates (10), the laminate comprising at least one polymer layer (20) and a glass layer (30, 40). The polymer layer may be made of polyvinyl butyral. The method comprises mechanical removal of at least part of the glass and placing the residual waste, comprising the polymer layer with embedded glass particles, in a vat 360 comprising a separation fluid 375. A mixture of glass particles and polymer pieces from the polymer layer are produced. The polymer pieces can be extracted, washed and dried for reuse. The separation fluid comprises water and at least one alcohol; the alcohol may be a water soluble alcohol, preferably butyl diglycol. |
