<p>The invention relates to a holding device for a vehicle, whose wheels (14) rest on a supporting surface, said device being designed to hold a vehicle with no brake applied that can be freely displaced on said supporting surface (5). Said device comprises a supporting unit (2), which can be displaced in the direction of travel of the vehicle and comprises at least one displacement track (3, 4) for the wheels (14) of the vehicle, said track(s) running parallel to the travel direction of the vehicle. At least one end of the displacement track (3, 4) is located above the supporting surface in such a way that it lies below the axle of the wheels (14). The holding device also comprises a carrier (13) for the wheel (14), which can be inserted behind a wheel (14) and applied to the rear face of the latter (14) and which is mounted on the supporting unit (2) so that it can be displaced along the displacement track (3, 4), in addition to a drive for displacing the supporting unit (2) in the direction of travel of the vehicle and a drive for displacing the carrier (13) along the displacement track (3, 4). The holding device is characterised in that it comprises a controller (17) for said drives, which applies both the carrier (13) to the rear face of the wheel (14) and the end of the displacement track (3, 4) that faces the wheel (14) to the front face of the latter (14), in order to hold a wheel (14) on a displacement track (3, 4). Once the carrier (13) and the displacement track (3, 4) have been applied to the wheel (14), the controller pushes the supporting unit (2) towards the wheel (14) on the supporting surface, thus pushing the carrier (13) towards the displacement track (3, 4) at a speed that is at least as great in relation to the track as the advance speed of the supporting unit (2) in relation to the supporting surface.</p> |
