<p>Foils or sheets of gelatine, cellulose hydrate, cellulose compounds, &c. are moistureproofed by coating with a thin layer of a molten or semi-solid composition consisting predominantly of one or more cellulose derivatives and resins, and containing more resin than cellulose derivative. The coating composition may contain nitrocellulose, acetyl-, stearyl-, palmityl-, ethyl-, and benzyl-cellulose, colophony, dammar, copal, ester gum, plasticizers such as camphor, tricresyl phosphate, triphenyl phosphate, and waxes or greases such as beeswax, ceresin, carnauba, paraffin, petroleum jelly, or wool grease.</p> |
