<p>An elevator having a rated carriage speed that differs during lifting and lowering, wherein space related to the speed governor can be reduced and the structure can be simplified. Two flywheel-type speed-governing parts (100, 200) are disposed so as to sandwich a speed governor pulley (9b) on which the upper end of a speed governor rope is suspended. The speed-governing parts are provided with: a bearing (108, 208) disposed in an intermediate position in the vertical shaft (103, 203) and used for floatingly supporting the upper part of the vertical shafts in relation to a driven bevel gear (102, 202); a pendulum (109, 209) arranged inside the drive bevel gear and that displaces in accordance with the rotation of the driven bevel gear; a speed-governing spring (111, 211) for urging the pendulum; a speed-detecting rotor (112, 212) secured above the bearing of the vertical shaft and arranged so as to surround the pendulum; and a pawl part (113, 213) that is formed with a slope inside the speed-detecting rotor and that can engage the pendulum during forward rotation.</p> |
