1. A piezoelectric element comprising:
a piezoelectric layer having a thickness of less than 10 μm, and a pair of electrodes associated with the piezoelectric layer, wherein the piezoelectric layer contains a perovskite structure bismuth sodium potassium titanate and satisfies the inequality 0≦Pr/Pm≦0.25 at 25° C., where Pm and Pr are the saturation polarization and remanent polarization, respectively, of the piezoelectric layer, the saturation polarization (Pm) being a polarization of the piezoelectric layer when supplied with an electric field of 200 kV/cm to 1000 kV/cm. |
