FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of forming a catalyst and a catalyst for facilitating and accelerating a reaction. A method of forming a catalyst includes dispersing a large number of substrate particles which are bonded with catalyst particles in a dispersion liquid; dispersing a large number of mobility-inhibiting particles in the dispersion liquid; mixing the dispersed substrate particles with the dispersed mobility-inhibiting particles to form a mixture of dispersed substrate particles and dispersed mobility-inhibiting particles, and binding the large number of mobility-inhibiting particles with the large number of substrate particles, wherein the mobility-inhibiting particles contain boron nitride, titanium carbide or titanium diboride, and preventing movement of the catalyst particles from one substrate particle to another. Another version of the method of forming a catalyst includes, besides said steps, freeze-drying a wet mixture to form a dry mixture; and calcining the dry mixture to form a cluster of a large number of substrate particles and a large number of mobility-inhibiting particles.EFFECT: method enables to inhibit movement of catalyst particles and reduces aggregation thereof, thereby minimising individual sizes thereof and maximising the total surface area.35 cl, 8 dwg |
