A system comprising: a cardiac electrical heart signal activation sensing circuit, configured to detect at least one of a right ventricular activation or a right ventricular electrostimulation, and to determine therefrom a corresponding right ventricular activation time for a first cardiac cycle; a cardiac mechanical heart signal sensor interface circuit, configured to use information about an S1 heart sound to distinguish a pulmonary valve opening from other information associated with the S1 heart sound, and to determine therefrom a pulmonary valve opening time occurring during the same first cardiac cycle; a timer circuit, coupled to the cardiac electrical heart signal activation circuit and the cardiac mechanical heart signal sensor interface circuit, the timer circuit configured to measure a first time interval between the detected right ventricular activation and the pulmonary valve opening time occurring during the same first cardiac cycle; and a cardiac electrostimulation circuit, coupled to the timer circuit, the cardiac electrostimulation circuit configured to deliver electrostimulations to the heart, the cardiac electrostimulation circuit including at least one operational parameter determined using the first time interval between the detected right ventricular activation and the pulmonary valve opening time occurring during the same first cardiac cycle.
