METHOD OF EVALUATING ENDOTHELIAL CELL EXPRESSION PATTERNS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide first tumor endothelial markers specific to tumor angiogenesis.SOLUTION: Tumor endothelial markers include 46 genes that were specifically elevated in tumor-associated endothelium, revealed by comparing transcripts from ECs derived from normal and malignant colorectal tissues with transcripts from non-endothelial cells, and comparing normal- and tumor-derived endothelium. Also provided are antibodies to the tumor endothelial markers, and use in anti-angiogenic therapies.
