PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder having good adhesion with a base material or a filler and hard to cause a fracture of an electrode, which enables the formation of an electrode large in thickness.SOLUTION: An aqueous binder for an electrode composition comprises: a polymer; and water. The polymer has a structural unit originating from a monomer including an acid, and a structural unit originating from a monomer including a hydroxyl group. The polymer includes 1-75 wt% of the structural unit originating a monomer including a hydroxyl group to a total of 100 mass% of the structural units of the polymer. The polymer has an acid value of 200-700 mgKOH/g. |
