[Class 7 (iii)] Air enters through a suction-actuated valve 29 and after passing concentric rings of orifices 27 it is deflected to product eddy currents by impinging on the inclined walls of an enlargement 25 around the fuel nozzle and on the sloping walls of a Venturi chamber 22. The body 25 and the fuel nozzle 23 are carried by a tubular member 26, which is connected to a mixture throttle valve 2 by links 4, 24, 38 and a rack and pinion gear 34, 41 which also controls the admission of fuel to the tube 26 through a valve 50. A suction-actuated mixture outlet valve 16 is located in the chamber 23a above the fuel nozzle ; this valve also controls the admission of water through a sprayer 9. A spring-loaded valve 19 prevents damage from backfiring. |
