Disclosed are a method and device for maintaining a timeslot state, to achieve reliable timeslot resource allocation under different vehicle node densities and support flexible changes of message sending rates. The method comprises: a first node generates a first FI, and sends the generated first FI to other nodes on a timeslot occupied by the first node, the first FI carrying indication information about a timeslot occupation cycle. Under a condition that different nodes have different timeslot occupation cycles, the first node can accurately transfer sensed timeslot occupation information of a first-hop node and a second-hop node to the peripheral nodes, and sending of traffic safety messages in different vehicle density scenarios is supported.
