Provided is a home appliance feature extracting method based on power consumption analysis. The appliance feature extracting method according to an embodiment of the present invention maintains an REF if consumption power information of an appliance is not out of a specific condition, changes the REF if the consumption power information of the appliance is out of the specific condition, and extracts REFs as features of the appliance. Therefore, the features of the appliance are extracted from a server with the consumption power information transmitted from a smart outlet or plug to the server and used.
