The present invention relates to the technical field of wireless communication technologies. Disclosed are a GSM soft hand-off method and device, the method comprising the following steps: determining whether a mobile station has moved into overlapping coverage of a current cell and a target cell; if yes, then determining whether a frequency point currently utilized by the mobile station is the frequency point in a frequency point resource pool utilized by the target cell; and if determining that the frequency point currently utilized by the mobile station is the frequency point in a frequency point shared resource pool, then activating the same time slot on the frequency point for switching. The present invention utilizes the same frequency resources for switching in the overlapping coverage of different cells to allow GSM soft hand-off to have better practicability, thus reducing call dropping during the switching, and improving user experience. |
