PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GPS receiver that can obtain an effect of sufficient power saving.SOLUTION: A GPS receiver 6 including a demodulation circuit 30 with a plurality of signal processing units allocated to each of a plurality of GPS satellites, and a power supply unit 40 supplying power to each of the plurality of signal processing units comprises: a positioning unit 20 that performs positioning of a current location on the basis of a processing result by the plurality of signal processing units; a determination unit 20 that determines the number of the GPS satellites capable of reception of a radio wave signal on the basis of the current location positioned by the positioning unit and almanac data acquired from a base station; an optimization unit 20 that reduces the number of the GPS satellites determined by the determination unit on the basis of environmental information to optimize the number thereof; and a power control unit 20 that stops supplying the power to the signal processing units other than the number of the signal processing units optimized by the optimization unit by means of the power supply unit. |
