The present invention relates to a transcription activator like effector-nuclease (TALEN) targeting myostatin (MSTN) genes and a method for producing an animal having knocked-out MSTN genes. The present invention confirms that a transgenic pig having knocked-out MSTN genes can be effectively produced by using MSTN gene-specific TALEN and somatic cell nuclear transfer technology. Accordingly, the method of the present invention can be used for the effective production of pigs having an increased amount of muscles and also for other animals to provide meat for people.
