PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-shaped transparent sealing material high in transparency and gas barrier and capable of effectively sealing an electronic device requiring high water vapor barrier such as an organic EL element.SOLUTION: By combining and mutually dissolving a cyclic olefin-based resin (A) in which the number average molecular weight is 5,000 to 500,000 and a tackifier (B) in which a solubility parameter (SP value) is 9(cal/cm)or lower, a sheet-shaped transparent sealing material having a glass transition temperature of 60 to 100°C is prepared. It is possible that the tackifier (B) has an aliphatic hydrocarbon skeleton and has the number average molecular weight of 100 to 2,000. It is possible that, regarding the sheet-shaped transparent sealing material, in a thickness of 100 μm, the whole light transmittance is about 90 to 95%, and also, haze is about 0.1 to 1.5%. The sheet-shaped transparent sealing material may be the one for sealing an electronic device requiring transparency. |
