PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, method, printing system, and program capable of generating optimum halftone processing which satisfies a required halftone performance and is suitable to the printing system.SOLUTION: The image processing system comprises: characteristic parameter acquisition means (52) for acquiring a characteristic parameter relating to the characteristic of the printing system; priority parameter holding means (56) for holding a priority parameter relating to a priority with respect to plural request items required to the halftone processing; and halftone processing generation means (58) which, on the basis of the characteristic parameter and the priority parameter, generates a halftone processing rule for regulating the processing content of the halftone processing to use for the printing system. |
