PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of carboxylic acid anhydride using a heterogeneous catalyst, capable of efficiently separating the heterogeneous catalyst and the crystal of carboxylic acid anhydride, allowing the carboxylic acid anhydride with a color original to the crystal to be efficiently manufactured without coloration.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of carboxylic acid anhydride includes heating a raw material compound represented by a specific formula in a carboxylic acid having 1 to 5 carbon atoms in a reaction vessel using a heterogeneous catalyst. At least one baffle is disposed to contact with the reaction liquid of the raw material compound and the carboxylic acid introduced in the reaction vessel. At least one of the baffle is a baffle also serving as a container for accommodating the catalyst, having a catalyst accommodation part for accommodating the heterogeneous catalyst and holes for contacting the heterogeneous catalyst to be accommodated in the catalyst accommodation part with the reaction liquid, and allowing the heterogeneous catalyst to be accommodated in the catalyst accommodation part such that the heterogeneous catalyst is prevented from flowing out through the baffle also serving as a container for accommodating the catalyst.
