PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner from sticking to a layer regulation member with time, to properly regulate a layer thickness of developer.SOLUTION: A developing apparatus includes: a developer holding body 1 which holds developer on a developing rotating body 2 with magnetic force of a magnet member 3 by rotating the developing rotating body 2; developer supply member 5 which is arranged below the developer holding body 1, to supply developer to the developer holding body 1; a layer regulation member 7 having a curved surface section 7a with a circular arc cross section, which protrudes toward the developer holding body 1, at least, and regulating a layer thickness of the developer held on the developer holding body 1; and shut-off member 8 which shuts off a path of the developer supplied from the developer supply member toward the layer regulation member 7. The shut-off member 8 includes a guide section 9 which protrudes toward the developer supply member 5 from a vertical line position L1 in a periphery of the developer supply member 5 and passing through a side end of the layer regulation member 7, and covers the periphery of the developer supply member within a range not reaching a vertical line position L2 passing through the center of the developer supply member 5, to guide the developer toward the developer holding body 1. |
