The present invention relates to a method for improving formability of a composite material containing a fiber preform, and to a composite material with improved formability and, more specifically, to a fiber preform composed of a fiber and one or more carbon materials selected from the group consisting of a graphene oxide, a carbon nanotube (CNT), carbon black, and carbon nanofiber, and to a composite material containing the fiber preform. The method for improving formability of a composite material comprises: a step (1) of fabricating a fiber preform by coating a fiber with one or more carbon materials selected from the group consisting of a graphene oxide, a CNT, carbon black, and carbon nanofiber; and a step (2) of impregnating a resin in the fiber preform obtained in the step 1, wherein a polymer binder material is not mixed with the fiber preform. The fiber preform of the present invention contains carbon materials instead of a polymer binder, thereby improving shape retention of a fiber mat, and improving affinity between a fiber and a resin. Therefore, permeability of a resin to the fiber preform is not deteriorated. In addition, as the carbon materials of the fiber preform improve adhesion between a fiber and a resin, a composite material with improved mechanical properties such as shear strength between layers or the like, and formability can be provided. |
