The present invention relates to a method for controlling an air conditioner to reduce noise at night. The present invention includes a time determination driving step which determines the performance range of low noise diving at night based on the temperature distribution of external air measured when the air conditioner is operated for a setting time, and a low noise driving step at night which limits the range of a maximum driving frequency of a compressor when the present time is included in the performance range of low noise at night determined by the time determination driving step, raises the target overheating of an indoor unit or the target overcooling, and reduces air from an indoor blower. According to the present invention, night noise can be effectively reduced. |
