PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a retreat ramp part to properly receive a buffer load even during off-set collision with a fine lap in a vehicle bumper reinforcement in which the retreat ramp part is provided at an end part.SOLUTION: In a vehicle bumper reinforcement, a flabellate widening part 20 is provided at each retreat ramp part 12 and an outer side plate 22 is bent so as to separate from an inner side plate 24 to arrange the outer side plate 22 substantially parallel with a vehicle width direction. The structure allows the vehicle bumper reinforcement to properly receive a buffer load even during off-set collision with a fine lap. Thus, impact absorption performance is properly achieved through compressive deformation of a vehicle bumper reinforcement 10 itself. Further, the buffer load received by the flabellate widening part 20 is transmitted from the vehicle bumper reinforcement 10 to a crush box 16 and thus the crush box 16 is compressively deformed in an axial direction in a proper manner to achieve the impact absorption performance. |
