The present invention concerns a photopolymer formulation comprising specific aromatic glycol ethers as writing monomers, matrix polymers and a photoinitiator. Other subjects of the invention are an unexposed holographic medium obtainable using a photopolymer formulation of the invention, and an exposed holographic medium obtainable by exposing a hologram into an unexposed holographic medium of the invention. Subjects of the invention likewise are an optical display comprising an exposed holographic medium of the invention, the use of an exposed holographic medium of the invention for fabricating chip cards, identity documents, 3D images, product protection labels, tags, banknotes or elements with holographic optical properties, and also specific aromatic glycol ethers.
