The invention relates to a computer implemented method for detecting interference between elements in a three-dimensional data model. In the method the three-dimensional data model is received as an input (110), which comprises plurality of elements. Input parameters (120) are also received for the interference detection between the elements in the design, which comprise at least a cost value for at least some of the plurality of the elements. An interference detection calculation (130) is configured to be performed with input parameters and a result of interference detection calculation is output. The invention relates also to a system performing the method as well as a computer program product. |
